Te Wiki o Te Reo Quiz

Today tamariki had the opportunity to compete in a quiz, testing out their knowledge in Te Reo and Maori culture. It was great to see some senior students helping the younger ones out, showing tuakana teina!

Test out your knowledge and see if you can answer the question as well!

Some students have been showing off their poi skill around the school and at home. Be sure to ask your tamariki if they can show you their new tautōhito.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori!

Nau mai, haere mai ki te Wiki o Te Reo Maori! Welcome to Maori Language Week 2016.

This year's theme is all about giving te reo a go - akina te reo!

Students will have the opportunity to learn some new words and phrases, make poi, create their own posters celebrating the language, participate in a language quiz and see the Kapa Haka perform.

Each day there will be a new word or phrase posted on the blog, which students will be learning in their classes. It's all about encouraging others and helping them to do their best - akina te reo!

Wishing you all a fantastic week of exploring te reo, remember to give it a go and get behind your tamariki in their learning too.
